Marvel Rivals Addresses 30 FPS Damage Bug Affecting Several Heroes
Players of Marvel Rivals experiencing reduced damage output at lower frame rates (FPS) can breathe a sigh of relief. The developers have acknowledged a bug impacting damage calculations, particularly for heroes like Dr. Strange and Wolverine, when the game runs at 30 FPS. This issue, affecting a subset of heroes including Magik, Star-Lord, and Venom, is currently under active development.
The 30 FPS bug, which disproportionately affects damage dealt by certain abilities (like Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw), is more noticeable against stationary targets. While the precise cause is tied to the game's client-side prediction mechanism, a fix is underway.
Since its December 2025 launch, Marvel Rivals has enjoyed considerable success, boasting an 80% player approval rating on Steam (over 132,000 reviews). Despite initial concerns about hero balance, the game's popularity remains strong.
While a precise date isn't available, the developers are optimistic that the upcoming Season 1 launch on January 11th will include a solution or significant improvement to this 30 FPS damage issue. If the Season 1 patch doesn't completely resolve the problem, further updates are planned to address any remaining inconsistencies. The team's commitment to fixing this bug underscores their dedication to providing a fair and enjoyable gaming experience for all players, regardless of their hardware capabilities.
