Space Marine 2 es compatible con mods: se añaden los Tau, Necrones y pesca
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2's community is celebrating as developers empower modders by releasing their internal editor, raising hopes for Skyrim-like longevity through player creations.
Creative director Dmitry Grigorenko announced on Discord that Saber Interactive has launched Integration Studio—the same tool used internally—marking a major leap for modding support.
The public editor enables unprecedented customization, allowing creators to modify level designs, game modes, AI behaviors, combat mechanics, and UI elements while streamlining workflow.
"Our commitment to modding wasn't empty words," Grigorenko stated. "Watching this inventive community expand possibilities has been incredible. We can't wait to see their campaigns, game modes, or completely unexpected innovations."
To spark creativity, Grigorenko humorously proposed a "Fishing With Daddy Calgar" concept—now technically feasible—referencing Ultramarines Chapter Master Marneus Calgar.

Warhammer Workshop's Tom, creator of the Astartes Overhaul mod, reveals the editor unlocks mission scripting and component manipulation—enabling projects like:
- Roguelite modes starting with just a combat knife against escalating Tyranid hordes
- Progressive weapon unlocks (defeating a Carnifex could reward Heavy Bolters)
- New faction implementations (Tau/Necrons using existing rigs)
While cinematic Chaos campaigns are possible, Tom notes animation tools remain restricted—though factions without complex cutscenes are viable.
The community is already racing to realize Grigorenko's fishing challenge, showcasing tools that transcend Space Marine 2's initial three-faction limitation (Space Marines, Chaos, Tyranids). Fans previously hoping for Necron DLC can now create their own expansions.
This development arrives as Saber confirms Space Marine 3's production—reassuring fans concerned about SM2's future despite publisher Focus Entertainment's commitment to ongoing support.
"This is Skyrim-level longevity potential," noted Reddit user Mortwight, capturing community enthusiasm for tools enabling deeper customization than official DLC might provide.
