"Days Gone Remastered: Now with Adjustable Game Speed"
With the release of Days Gone Remastered on the horizon, Sony's Bend Studio has unveiled a suite of accessibility features designed to enhance the gaming experience for all players. Among these features, the ability to adjust the Game Speed stands out as a significant addition. In a recent PlayStation Blog post, Kevin McAllister, Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead, detailed how players can now slow down gameplay from 100% to as low as 25%. This adjustment aims to ease the tension during high-pressure moments, particularly beneficial when facing the game's infamous Freaker hordes. McAllister explained, "Game Speed is ideal for players who might feel overwhelmed in certain situations or have difficulty with various inputs in high-pressure moments, specifically fighting off hordes of Freakers. Hordes are a pillar in Days Gone gameplay and with our new Horde Assault mode arriving in the remaster, we wanted to make this unique combat experience more accessible to our players."
In addition to adjustable Game Speed, Days Gone Remastered will feature a range of other accessibility options. Players can customize subtitle colors, utilize a High Contrast Mode, benefit from UI Narration, and receive Collectible Audio Cues. The auto-complete QTE feature, previously exclusive to Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels from Easy to Survival II. While these enhancements are set for the remastered version on PS5, Bend Studio has also confirmed that most of these accessibility features will be integrated into the PC version of Days Gone, with some requiring a compatible controller for full functionality.
Announced in February, Days Gone Remastered promises not only enhanced accessibility but also new gameplay modes like permadeath and speedrun, alongside an improved photo mode. This remaster of the 2019 post-apocalyptic zombie action-adventure game is eagerly anticipated and is slated for release on April 25, 2025. Players who own the PS4 version will have the opportunity to upgrade to the PS5 remastered edition for just $10, ensuring that more fans can experience these exciting new features.
