A Scope Similar to Update 2.2
CD Projekt RED has announced a delay for Cyberpunk 2077's upcoming Update 2.3, previously scheduled for June 26. The team is extending development time to match the depth and breadth of Update 2.2, ensuring players receive a polished and feature-rich experience. This strategic pause reflects CDPR’s ongoing dedication to delivering meaningful content that meets community expectations.
In response to the delay, Marcin Momot, Global Community Director, took to X (formerly Twitter) to communicate directly with fans.
"Turns out we're going to need more time with this one. Sorry for the wait and thanks for your patience, everyone!" Momot shared.
Paweł Sasko, Associate Game Director, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the team’s focus on refinement.
"Need a little more time in the oven my chooms," Sasko wrote. "Making sure it's done well and polished for you. Much love, thank you for your passion for our game -- it's incredibly motivating and inspiring."
This additional development window will allow CD Projekt RED to fine-tune gameplay improvements, balance changes, and potential new content, aligning Update 2.3 with the high standards set by its predecessor. Fans can expect a more robust and cohesive update upon release, though an official new launch date has yet to be announced.
