Application Description
A card game for two players
This app features three engaging card games: Four Cards Golf, Six Cards Golf, and Scat. You can easily choose your preferred game in the Settings menu.
Four Cards Golf – Rules
This is a strategic two-player card game where, just like in real golf, the objective is to score as few points as possible.
Each match consists of nine rounds. At the start of a round, each player is dealt four cards face down, arranged in a 2x2 layout. The remaining cards form a draw pile. The top card from this pile is placed face up to begin the discard pile.
Before gameplay begins, each player may look at only the two cards closest to them in their layout—this peek is allowed just once. These cards must remain secret throughout the round. Players cannot look at any face-down cards again unless replacing them during play or during final scoring.
On your turn, you have several options:
Draw from the draw pile: You can use the drawn card to replace any one of your four face-down cards. However, you cannot look at the card you're replacing—rely on memory! Place the replaced card into the discard pile, face up. Alternatively, you can draw a card and immediately discard it without making a swap.
Draw from the discard pile: Since the cards here are face up, if you choose one, you must use it to replace a card in your layout. You cannot draw and return it without making a change.
Knock: At any point during your turn, you may choose to knock. This ends your turn, and the round will conclude after the other player completes their turn. Once a player knocks, no further knocking is allowed. The round ends immediately afterward.
Scoring (Four Cards Golf):
- Pairs in a row or column (same rank) = 0 points
- Jokers = -2 points each
- Kings = 0 points
- Queens and Jacks = 10 points each
- All other cards = face value
- Four of a kind (all four cards the same rank) = -6 points (a great bonus!)
Six Cards Golf – Rules
Another two-player game with the same goal: lowest score wins.
Each game has nine rounds. At the beginning, each player receives six cards face down (in a 2x3 layout). The rest form the draw pile, with the top card starting the discard pile face up.
Each player must first turn two of their six cards face up. The aim is to reduce the total value of your layout by either swapping cards or forming pairs in columns.
Players take turns drawing one card—either from the draw pile or the discard pile. After drawing:
- You may swap the drawn card with one of your own (face-up or face-down). If swapping with a face-down card, the new card remains face up.
- Or, you may discard the drawn card without making a swap, ending your turn.
The round ends when all six of a player’s cards are face up.
Scoring (Six Cards Golf):
- Pairs in a column (same rank) = 0 points
- Jokers = -2 points each
- Kings = 0 points
- Queens and Jacks = 20 points each
- All other cards = face value
How to Play:
To swap one of your cards with the top card from the discard pile, simply tap your card. To draw from the deck, tap the draw pile to reveal the card. Then, either tap the discard pile to discard it, or tap one of your cards to swap.
