Retro Royale: Clash Royale revisits classic mode

Supercell is dialing back the clock to 2017 with the exciting new Retro Royale Mode in Clash Royale. This limited-time event, running from March 12th to March 26th, brings a wave of nostalgia and offers players the chance to earn fantastic rewards. As you ascend the 30-step Retro Ladder, you'll be collecting Gold and Season Tokens along the way.

Following the recent announcement about removing Troop Training times in Clash of Clans, Supercell continues to innovate and refresh their flagship titles. To celebrate Clash Royale's latest anniversary, they're introducing the Retro Royale mode, complete with a nostalgic trailer that harks back to the game's launch. During this event, you'll have access to a curated selection of 80 cards, reminiscent of the early days, as you battle your way up the Retro Ladder to secure those exclusive rewards.

The competition intensifies as you climb the ranks. Once you reach the Competitive League, your starting rank will be determined by your progress on the Trophy Road. From there, your performance in Retro Royale will be the key to climbing the leaderboard and showcasing your skills in this throwback environment.

It's interesting to note that while I previously discussed Supercell's efforts to keep their games feeling fresh, the introduction of a retro mode might seem counterintuitive. However, there's a clear distinction between something feeling dated and something evoking nostalgia. With the enticing rewards up for grabs, it's hard to imagine fans not wanting to dive into this nostalgic experience.

And here's a little incentive: by competing in both the Retro Ladder and the Competitive League at least once, you'll earn a special badge for each. So, make sure to participate and claim your badges.
