Crusader Kings 3 Devs Share Initial Insights on Nomad-Themed DLC
Paradox Interactive has revealed initial details for their upcoming Crusader Kings 3 expansion, centered around nomadic rulers. This DLC introduces a revolutionary governance system specifically designed for nomadic peoples, incorporating a new currency: "herd." The size of the ruler's herd directly impacts their authority, influencing military might, cavalry unit composition, relationships with vassals, and other core gameplay mechanics.
The nomadic lifestyle inherently involves constant migration. A chieftain's movements will be determined by various factors, necessitating either diplomatic negotiations with settled populations or forceful displacement.
Furthermore, rulers will command transportable yurts, mirroring the adventurer system. These yurts can be customized with upgrades offering significant advantages.
The expansion also features iconic yurt towns, mirroring adventurer camps, which nomadic kings transport with them. These mobile settlements can be upgraded with additional structures, each providing unique benefits.
