Urshifu Debuts in Pokémon GO's Final Strike: GO Battle Week with Gigantamax Machamp

The Might and Mastery season in Pokémon GO is drawing to a close, culminating in the thrilling Final Strike: GO Battle Week, set to begin on May 21st, 2025, and run through May 27th. This week is your chance to bring Kubfu's journey to a spectacular finish.

What’s in Store during the Final Strike: GO Battle Week?

After weeks of dedicated effort, it's time to evolve Kubfu into the legendary Urshifu, and you have the choice of two distinct forms. The path you choose depends on your battling style. To unlock the Single Strike style, ensure Kubfu is your buddy and defeat 30 Dark-type Pokémon in raids or Max Battles. For the Rapid Strike style during the Final Strike: GO Battle Week, follow the same steps but target 30 Water-type Pokémon instead.

Additionally, there's a Special Research that ties into the ongoing Seasonal storyline, available until June 3rd, 2025. Completing this research rewards you with Kubfu Candy, Mysterious Components, and encounters with themed Pokémon, such as Charcadet, featuring a Special Background.

May 25th Is a Special Day

Mark your calendars for May 25th, as it's the Gigantamax Machamp Max Battle Day. From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, Gigantamax Machamp makes its debut in six-star Max Battles. This event comes with several enticing bonuses.

During this time, you'll need to travel only one-fourth the usual distance to earn Max Particles. The storage limit for Max Particles increases to 1,600, and all Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles. You'll also earn 8× Max Particles from these battles and gain two extra Special Trades. Don't miss out on collecting Max Mushrooms, which temporarily double the damage of your Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon. You can stack multiple mushrooms to extend the duration, although the power boost remains consistent.
