After a long wait and two delayed launches, Rune Slayer is finally here, and it's fantastic! While incredibly fun, there's a learning curve, especially for MMORPG newcomers. This guide provides essential tips to jumpstart your adventure.

Here are some early-game insights that would have saved us considerable time and frustration:

Avoid Unprovoked Player Attacks

Initially, the full-loot PvP aspect worried us. However, death doesn't result in significant item loss. The catch? Attacking players generates a bounty. More kills mean a larger bounty, leading to increased item drops upon your death. Essentially, full-loot PvP is self-inflicted. Unless you have a compelling reason (or a strong group), avoid attacking other players.

Craft Bags Immediately

Inventory and bank space are severely limited. Fortunately, crafting bags expands capacity. The initial Cotton Bag adds 10 slots. Gather Cotton north of Wayshire and Flax south (beware of tougher mobs in the south). Craft these bags as soon as possible.

Pets Don't Perish

Contrary to popular belief, defeated pets don't die permanently. They have a 5-minute cooldown before they can be resummoned (check with the "T" key). To quickly heal your pet, use the stable master's free storage slot.

Accept Every Quest

The sheer number of quests might seem overwhelming. Many are non-repeatable and fairly standard "kill X" tasks. To streamline progression, accept every quest you encounter, including those from the job board. Often, quests can be combined, making this approach more efficient.

Craft Everything at Least Once

Prioritize crafting essential items. However, use spare materials to experiment with other crafts. Initial crafting often unlocks more advanced recipes. For example, smelting Iron Ore opened up various Iron Armor crafting options.

Join a Guild

While Rune Slayer is solo-friendly, tougher enemies require group efforts. Joining a guild is the easiest way to find groups, especially for high-health bosses. Utilize general chat or the official Rune Slayer Discord server to find a guild.
