T-1000 MK1 Trailer Features Terminator 2 References

NetherRealm and WB Games have just released the official gameplay trailer for T-1000, the iconic character from the Terminator series, set to join the roster of Mortal Kombat 1 next Tuesday. T-1000 brings a unique twist to the game with his ability to transform into liquid metal, allowing him to creatively dodge projectiles. This feature is sure to resonate with fans who enjoyed playing as Kabal in previous iterations. Although Kabal isn't in Mortal Kombat 1, some of his signature weapons and moves have been incorporated, adding a familiar touch for long-time players.

The trailer is rich with nods to the classic film Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Notably, it recreates the memorable scene where T-1000 wags his finger—a gesture famously banned in the NBA as unsportsmanlike conduct. Additionally, there's a moment where T-1000 asks Johnny Cage if he has seen John Connor, further blending the worlds of Mortal Kombat and Terminator.

Alongside T-1000, the trailer introduces Madam Bo, another character set to be added to the game. In a striking Fatality, the liquid metal Terminator shifts his appearance and replaces his victim, showcasing the machine's efficiency in completing its mission.

No further announcements were made by WB Games. There are rumors circulating that this could be the final wave of new content for Mortal Kombat 1, with speculation that a new game announcement might be on the horizon. However, these remain unconfirmed, leaving fans eagerly awaiting any official word on the future of the franchise.
