PoE2: Demystifying Delirium - Unveiling Mechanics, Passives & Rewards

Path of Exile 2's Endgame: Mastering the Delirium Encounter

Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2) offers four major endgame map events: Rituals, Breaches, Expeditions, and Delirium. Delirium, a returning mechanic from previous PoE leagues, is a challenging and rewarding endgame experience. This guide covers initiating Delirium events, navigating the Delirium Fog, accessing the Simulacrum Pinnacle map, utilizing the Delirium Passive Skill Tree, and maximizing rewards.

Understanding the Delirium Fog Mechanic

Delirium Mirror Icon

On the Atlas, map nodes guaranteeing endgame events are marked with distinct icons. Delirium Mirrors are represented by a black and white icon mirroring the mirror itself. You can ensure a Delirium event by placing a Delirium Precursor Tablet in a Lost Tower.

Within a Delirium map, locate the multicolored, shattered-glass Delirium Mirror near your starting point. Activating it unleashes a swirling circle of Delirium Fog. This fog expands, increasing enemy difficulty as you progress. Leaving the fog ends the encounter and resets the map.

Enemies within the fog are significantly stronger but offer unique rewards: Distilled Emotions (used in crafting) and Simulacrum Splinters (used to summon the Pinnacle Boss). Fractured Mirrors within the fog, when activated, spawn additional waves of enemies and loot. Be aware of the potential for random boss encounters with Kosis and Omniphobia – these are full bosses, not just rare enemies.

The Simulacrum Pinnacle Event

Every endgame event offers Pinnacle Boss summoning items. High-tier Waystones in Delirium offer Simulacrum Splinters. Accumulate 300 splinters to create a Simulacrum, placing it in the Realmgate to access the 15-wave Simulacrum event. Difficulty increases with each wave, and Delirium bosses have an increased chance of appearing in later waves. Completing the Simulacrum grants two Delirium Passive Skill points.

The Delirium Passive Skill Tree

Delirium Passive Skill Tree

The Delirium Passive Skill Tree, located within the Atlas Passive Skill Tree (top-right), modifies Delirium events. It features eight Notable nodes and eight nodes impacting Simulacrum difficulty. Each Simulacrum completion awards two passive points, requiring increased Simulacrum difficulty to access new Notable nodes.

Notable Delirium Passive Nodes:

Notable Delirium Passive Effect Requirements
Get Out Of My Head! 20% chance for Waystones to have an Instilled Emotion effect N/A
Would You Like To See My Face? Doubles difficulty scaling and Splinter stack size Get Out Of My Head!
You Can't Just Wake Up From This One Delirium Fog dissipates 30% slower N/A
I'm Not Afraid Of You! Delirium Bosses have 50% increased Life, but drop 50% more Splinters You Can't Just Wake Up From This One
They're Coming To Get You... Delirium Encounters spawn Unique Bosses 25% more often; Rare kills pause fog dissipation N/A
Isn't It Tempting? 30% chance for an extra reward, but Delirium Demons deal 30% increased Damage N/A
The Mirrors... The Mirrors! Delirium Fog spawns Fractured Mirrors twice as often N/A
It's Not Real, It's Not Real! Delirium enemies drop 50% more reward progress, but fog dissipates 50% faster N/A

Prioritize "You Can't Just Wake Up From This One," "Get Out Of My Head!", and "They're Coming To Get You" for optimal rewards without significant drawbacks.

Delirium Rewards

Distilled Emotions

Delirium Fog-affected enemies drop Distilled Emotions. Bosses also frequently drop them. These are used to Anoint amulets with Notable Passive Skills or add guaranteed modifiers to Waystones, increasing Delirium mob power. Simulacrum Splinters, dropped by enemies, combine to create the Simulacrum for the Pinnacle event, rewarding passive points and a unique item.

All PoE 2 Distilled Emotions:

Distilled Ire Distilled Guilt Distilled Greed Distilled Paranoia Distilled Envy Distilled Disgust Distilled Despair Distilled Fear Distilled Suffering Distilled Isolation

Mastering the Delirium encounter requires strategic skill tree investment and efficient resource management. By understanding the mechanics and rewards, players can significantly enhance their PoE 2 endgame experience.
