Lower Minimum PC Specs Coming Soon
Console Performance Goals Unveiled
Monster Hunter Wilds will launch with a day-one patch optimizing performance on the PS5 Pro. A recent community update stream (December 19th) featured director Yuya Tokuda and other developers discussing post-Open Beta Test (OBT) improvements.Target console performance was revealed: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will offer "Prioritize Graphics" (4K/30fps) and "Prioritize Framerate" (1080p/60fps) modes. Xbox Series S will run natively at 1080p/30fps. A rendering bug affecting the framerate mode has been resolved.
While enhanced graphics are promised for the PS5 Pro version, specific details remain scarce.
PC performance will depend on individual hardware and settings. While initial PC specifications were previously released, Capcom confirmed they are working to reduce minimum requirements for broader accessibility. Further details and a potential PC benchmark tool are forthcoming.
Potential Second Open Beta Test
A second OBT is under consideration, primarily to give players who missed the first opportunity a chance to experience the game. However, any changes mentioned in the recent stream will not be included in this potential second beta and will only be available in the final release.
Other improvements highlighted include adjustments to hitstop and sound effects for increased impact, friendly fire mitigation, and weapon tweaks (with special focus on the Insect Glaive, Switch Axe, and Lance).
Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled for release on February 28th, 2025, for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
