Marvel Rivals Season 1: A Glimpse of Wong and the Arrival of the Fantastic Four

Marvel Rivals players are buzzing with excitement, fueled by a recent discovery hinting at the potential addition of Wong to the game's roster. The game, a hit with multiplayer hero shooter fans, boasting over 10 million players in its first 72 hours, is set to launch Season 1, "Eternal Night," on January 10th.

Season 1's main antagonist, Dracula, suggests a supernatural theme, further supported by the confirmed inclusion of the Fantastic Four. Adding to the intrigue, Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman will also have villainous skins: the Maker and Malice, respectively.

But the real talk is about Wong. A Reddit user, fugo_hate, highlighted a brief shot in the Sanctum Sanctorum map trailer showcasing a painting of Doctor Strange's mystical ally, Wong. This subtle Easter egg has sparked speculation about Wong's potential future as a playable character, and what unique magical abilities he might bring to the game.

Wong's Growing Popularity and Gaming History

Wong's popularity has skyrocketed thanks to Benedict Wong's MCU portrayal. While a non-playable character in 2006's Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, he's since appeared as a playable character in titles like Marvel Contest of Champions, Marvel Snap, and LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2.

However, the painting might simply be a tribute to Doctor Strange's ally within the context of the Sanctum Sanctorum map, which is rich with supernatural Marvel references.

Regardless of Wong's future in the game, Season 1 promises plenty of action. Launching this week, players can battle Dracula across three new maps and engage in the new Doom Match mode. The arrival of Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman as playable characters on January 10th adds even more anticipation.
