Revamped Team-Up Skills

Marvel Rivals Game Director Guangyun Chen confirmed major changes to team-up skills for Season 2 in a March 14th interview with PC Gamer. He stated, "Starting from Season 2, we will introduce new Team-Up skills with the seasonal update and adjust some existing ones. Together with seasonal overall balance adjustments, this will create a new combat environment and experience for the season."

Currently, the game boasts 17 team-up skills, including Ragnarok Rebirth (Hela, Loki/Thor), Lunar Force (Cloak & Dagger, Moon Knight), and Allied Agents (Hawkeye, Black Widow). Balancing these skills with the expanding roster will be a significant challenge for NetEase.

Hero Balancing

Chen detailed the balancing process, explaining, "First, we will closely monitor key metrics for heroes across different modes. For example, in Quick Match and Competitive Modes, we will analyze data such as win rates, pick rates, damage, healing, damage taken, and final blows for heroes at various ranks and in different tournaments. This data serves as the foundation for our balancing efforts." He further emphasized the importance of analyzing hero lineup compositions and community feedback in shaping their balancing decisions.

With a new hero planned for each half of the three-month season (eight heroes annually), maintaining balance will be an ongoing effort. Chen confirmed that development on Seasons 3 and 4 is already underway, reflecting NetEase's long-term commitment to the game (ten years and beyond).

Spider-Punk 2099 and Steam Power Iron Man Arrive March 20th

NetEase announced via Marvel Rivals' official Twitter (X) account on March 18th the arrival of new skins for Spider-Man and Iron Man on March 20th at 7 PM PDT / 10 PM EDT / March 21st at 2:00 AM UTC. Spider-Man's "Spider-Punk 2099" skin features a futuristic look with a digital mask, spiked mohawk, and electric guitar. Iron Man's "Steam Power" skin boasts a steampunk aesthetic, complete with large exhaust pipes and a burning furnace on his torso.

These skins, previously seen in the closed beta, follow the recent release of Loki's Presidential attire. While the release date is confirmed, pricing details remain undisclosed.
