Marvel Rivals Enhances Stability and Reduces Memory Usage with New Feature
Marvel Rivals is gearing up for an exciting Season 2, featuring a groundbreaking experimental feature designed to enhance the game's stability and reduce memory usage. Dive into the details of this new feature and explore the upcoming events and updates that await players in the world of Marvel Rivals.
Marvel Rivals Upcoming Features and Events
Switch Shader Compilation Mode
NetEase is set to introduce a revolutionary experimental feature aimed at improving Marvel Rivals' stability and optimizing its memory usage. Announced via a Twitter (X) post on April 30, the Switch Shader Compilation Mode is poised to enhance the gaming experience, particularly for players with lower RAM configurations or those concerned about FPS.
To provide more insights, Marvel Rivals published a detailed blog post on their website. The post acknowledges player feedback regarding performance stutters and crashes caused by excessive memory consumption during gameplay.
The blog explains, "To address the memory overload, we're introducing an experimental feature in Season 2: the Switch Shader Compilation Mode. Players can activate this feature through the PC launcher with the Season 2 update." It is particularly recommended for users with 16GB of RAM or less.
Upon activation, the feature offers the following benefits:
- The shader compilation process will only occur when first entering the game after a new game version or graphics driver update.
- Significantly reduced game memory usage, minimizing severe FPS drops, frozen visuals, and crashes due to memory shortages.
However, the developers have highlighted some known issues with this feature. Initially, at the start of each match, some materials may render abnormally for a few frames but will return to normal shortly after. Additionally, there might be minor stutters at the beginning, but these should stabilize for the remainder of the match.
