An Interconnected World

Nintendo unveiled the interconnected nature of Mario Kart World during the Direct, highlighting that the game's courses are seamlessly woven across the map. Players can navigate from one course to another via roads, offering a unique experience of exploring the world outside of traditional races. This setup not only allows for scenic exploration but also includes hidden items and missions that enhance driving skills.

The game introduces both new and reimagined classic courses, such as Mario Bros. Circuit, Crown City, Salty Salty Speedway, Starview Peak, Boo Cinema, Toad's Factory, Peach Beach, and Wario Shipyard. These courses have been tailored to fit perfectly into the expansive world of Mario Kart World.

Grand Prix and Knockout Tour

Mario Kart World brings a fresh arsenal of items alongside returning favorites. New items include the Coin Shell, which can knock opponents aside while leaving a trail of coins, the Ice Flower that freezes opponents, and the Big Mushroom, which temporarily enlarges the player to crush competitors.

The game features beloved characters like Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Bowser, as well as new additions such as Goomba, Spike, and even Cow. Players can discover alternate costumes for these characters hidden throughout the world.

Playing With Friends

Mario Kart World offers a variety of multiplayer modes. Time Trials allow players to compete against global ghost data, while VS mode lets players customize teams for competitive races. Battle mode returns with Coin Runners and Balloon Battle, each offering unique challenges.

The game supports both local and online play, accommodating up to four players in split-screen on one system, and up to eight players via local wireless play (two per Switch 2 device).
