Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Update 1.2 Launches with Steam Workshop, Barber Shops Added

Warhorse Studios has unveiled an exciting free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II with version 1.2, bringing two significant enhancements: seamless mod integration via Steam Workshop and a brand-new barber shop system.

The integration of Steam Workshop into Kingdom Come: Deliverance II revolutionizes how players access mods, allowing them to download and install mods directly from within the game. This eliminates the hassle of using third-party platforms, though it hinges on mod creators uploading their content to Steam Workshop. Currently, the selection is modest but promising, featuring mods such as:

  • Free Saving: This mod replenishes the "Saviour Schnapps" item after every use, enabling unlimited saves.
  • Helmet of Henry VIII: A mod that introduces a historical horned helmet for an authentic touch.
  • Tourist: This mod disables NPC reactions to trespassing, granting access to restricted story areas.
  • Pebbles the Zebra: Transform your horse into a zebra for a unique visual flair.

Although the initial mod offerings on Steam Workshop are limited, the modding community is anticipated to grow quickly. With over a thousand mods already on Nexus Mods, many creators are expected to cross-share their work, ensuring popular mods will soon be accessible on Steam Workshop as well.

Beyond mod support, version 1.2 introduces a barber shop system where players can visit NPCs in Rattay and Kuttenberg to change their hairstyle or beard. Each visit to the barber not only refreshes your look but also temporarily boosts the protagonist's Charisma stat.

The update goes well beyond these features, as detailed in the comprehensive changelog on the game's official website. Warhorse Studios has implemented over a thousand fixes and improvements across various aspects of the game, including:

  • Balancing adjustments to enhance gameplay fairness.
  • Refined animations for a smoother visual experience.
  • Improved NPC behavior, with more realistic daily schedules.
  • Fine-tuned crime system for greater accuracy and immersion.
  • Enhanced horse riding mechanics and horse trading systems.
  • Upgraded character visuals and performance optimization, particularly noticeable in Kuttenberg and during large-scale battles.

Warhorse Studios plans to explore these updates in greater detail during a developer livestream next Thursday. Their commitment to the game's development is further evidenced by the announcement of three paid DLC expansions scheduled for release in spring, summer, and winter.

With the introduction of Steam Workshop integration, new cosmetic options via the barber shop system, and an array of gameplay refinements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to enrich its medieval world, offering players an ever-evolving and immersive experience.
