Hoshimi Miyabi: Zenless Zone Zero's Revenue Catalyst
HoYoverse's mobile hit, Zenless Zone Zero, continues its impressive market performance. The recent version 1.4 update, titled "And the Starfall Came," propelled the game to a record-breaking $8.6 million in daily mobile player spending, surpassing its previous high set at launch in July 2024.
AppMagic data reveals Zenless Zone Zero's cumulative mobile revenue has already exceeded $265 million. Update 1.4's success is attributed to the introduction of new characters, Hoshimi Miyabi and Asaba Harumasa (the latter offered free to all players as a promotional incentive), along with enhanced game mechanics, new environments, and game modes. The Hoshimi Miyabi banner was particularly instrumental in driving this record revenue.
Remarkably, the 1.4 update sustained player engagement far beyond typical post-update trends. Unlike the usual decline in spending a week after updates, daily revenue remained above $1 million for over 11 consecutive days, and even exceeded $500,000 after two weeks.
While undeniably successful, Zenless Zone Zero's revenue still falls short of HoYoverse's flagship titles, Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail.
