Wuthering Waves: How To Defeat The Lifer
Conquer the Lifer in Wuthering Waves: A Comprehensive Guide
Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord found in the Rinascita region's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to overcome this formidable foe.
Locating the Lifer
The Lifer resides in Oakheart Highcourt's maze center, beneath a giant tree. An accessible entrance is located southwest of the Resonance Beacon near Oakheart Highcourt. Climb the walls or use the Flight function to reach it.
The Lifer's Board Game Challenge
Inside, you'll find the Lifer and a six-piece board game. Control the black pieces to connect three in a row before the Lifer (white pieces) does. Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens maze walls and gates in that direction. You can exit and resume the game at any time. Winning isn't necessary to fight the Lifer, but it's crucial for debuffing it.
Removing the Lifer's Buffs
The Lifer boasts seven buffs; four are removable using Stakes of Imbalance, while three are permanent. Examine the yellow module behind the Lifer to see its buffs.
Removable Buffs (using Stakes of Imbalance):
- Growing Loneliness: HP recovery after 2 seconds of no damage.
- Desire for Escape: Increased ATK and DMG over time.
- Impending Stalemate: Stacking ATK increase with each hit, resetting after 6 seconds without damage.
- Decay of Time: Significant resistance boosts and increased Max HP.
Permanent Buffs:
- Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
- Endless Game: Reduced Immobilization duration.
- Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after significant damage.
Use the Sensor tool near the Lifer to locate four purple lines leading to Stakes of Imbalance. Manipulate the board game to open the gates to the four outer rooms, each containing a Stake. One room requires Tacet Discord defeat, another involves breaking Friable Rocks, and one simply requires locating the Stake on a table. Place each Stake in the module near its corresponding winged statue to remove a buff. A yellow line indicates a removed buff.
Defeating the Lifer
With the four removable buffs gone, the Lifer becomes significantly weaker. Engage it via the board game or by choosing "Fight it out!". Victory rewards vary: first win: Premium Supply Chest; second: Premium and three Basic Supply Chests; third: Advanced and three Standard Supply Chests. You can re-enable buffs for a greater challenge, though there are no achievements tied to this.
Lifer Achievements
- The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
- The Ring of The Lifer: Obtain all nine chests (defeat the Lifer three times).
- Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game against the Lifer.
- Alpha Go: Lose the board game against the Lifer 10 times.
For the board game, focus on blocking the Lifer's winning moves. It will eventually make a mistake.
