Teardown Adds Multiplayer, Folkrace DLC
Tuxedo Labs has exciting news for fans of their acclaimed sandbox game, Teardown. The developers have announced the introduction of a multiplayer mode, fulfilling a long-standing goal and a top request from the community. This new feature will first be available on Steam's Experimental Branch, allowing players to dive in early and provide valuable feedback. The team is particularly keen on hearing from the modding community, as they will also release updates to the game's API. These updates will enable modders to adapt their creations for use in multiplayer settings, enhancing the overall experience.
Alongside the multiplayer announcement, Tuxedo Labs unveiled the Folkrace DLC, set to enrich the single-player experience. This expansion will introduce new maps, vehicles, and racing challenges, allowing players to compete in various events, earn rewards, and customize their vehicles to dominate the tracks. The Folkrace DLC promises to add a thrilling new dimension to Teardown's gameplay.
The multiplayer mode will initially be accessible through the "Experimental" branch on Steam, where players can test and refine the feature. Once the testing phase is successfully completed, multiplayer will become a permanent and integral part of Teardown. Concurrently, the team will ensure that existing mods can seamlessly transition into the multiplayer environment, thanks to the API updates.
Looking to the future, Tuxedo Labs has teased that two more major DLCs are in development, with more details to be revealed later in 2025. This roadmap indicates a bright and expansive future for Teardown, promising continued innovation and engagement for its dedicated player base.
