System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition Renamed System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, Also Coming to Nintendo Switch

Nightdive Studios has announced a name change and new platform for the modernized version of the 1999 sci-fi horror classic, System Shock 2. Now titled System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, this enhanced edition will launch on Nintendo Switch, in addition to its previously announced platforms.

System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will soon be available on Windows PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

The official synopsis reads:

The year is 2114. Awakening from cryo-sleep aboard the FTL ship Von Braun, you find yourself suffering from amnesia. Something has gone terribly wrong. Hybrid mutants and deadly robots roam the ship's corridors, their chilling cries echoing through the cold, metallic halls. SHODAN, a rogue AI hellbent on humanity's destruction, has seized control. The fate of mankind rests on your shoulders. Explore the derelict Von Braun, deck by deck, unraveling the horrifying fate of the crew and confronting the terrifying truth behind the ship's catastrophic failure.

Nightdive Studios will reveal the official release date, along with a new trailer, during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase livestream on March 20, 2025.
