"New Superman Trailer: Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, Krypto vs. The Engineer"
DC Studios has unveiled a thrilling new trailer for the upcoming Superman film, directed by James Gunn, set to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. This three-minute glimpse into the movie showcases a rich ensemble of superheroes and villains, providing fans with more details on the expansive cast.
The trailer highlights Nathan Fillion's portrayal of Guy Gardner, also known as Green Lantern, who is seen effortlessly swatting away enemies. Isabela Merced brings Hawkgirl to life, while María Gabriela de Faría's character, The Engineer, is given a prominent spotlight. We learn that it's The Engineer who is responsible for the destruction of the robots, including Kelex, that tend to Superman in his Fortress of Solitude. A previous trailer depicted Superman's emotional response to Kelex's fate.
Adding to the action, Krypto the Superdog makes a bold move by executing a flying punch against The Engineer, demonstrating his willingness to engage directly in combat. The trailer also features Lex Luthor, played by Nicholas Hoult, and the menacing Ultraman. Viewers get extended looks at Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific and Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason, aka Metamorpho. The newly introduced character, The Hammer of Boravia, believed to be Ultraman in disguise, is also showcased as expected from the teaser released just a day before.

The trailer also delves into the dynamic relationship between Clark Kent and Lois Lane, emphasizing their interaction during an interview where Clark is in his Superman persona. The conversation escalates into a heated debate about Superman's controversial intervention in a war abroad, with Superman defending his actions ("I wasn’t representing anyone except for me... and doing good!"). In response to these actions, The Hammer of Boravia launches an attack on Downtown Metropolis.
A poignant scene captures a moment of public support for Superman, as a bystander helps him out of a hole during the battle against The Hammer of Boravia. This act of kindness stands in stark contrast to other scenes where the public is shown reacting with fear and hostility, even hurling objects at the Man of Steel.
