Beast DLC for Dying Light Rises in August
Techland took the stage at Summer Game Fest 2025 to reveal that Dying Light: The Beast will launch on August 22, 2025, for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S.
This surprise announcement places the Dying Light spin-off's release just a few months away, returning players to the role of Kyle Crane after his absence from the 2022 sequel. Alongside the release date, Techland also unveiled fresh gameplay footage, teasing the countless brutal ways players can fight through hordes of the infected.
In its official description of Dying Light: The Beast, Techland calls the game a "blend of open world and action survival horror." Set in the perilous valley of Castor Woods, players must leverage every resource and skill to survive.
"You are Kyle Crane. After years of captivity and agonizing experiments at the hands of the Baron, you finally break free," explains Techland's story summary. "Stranded on the fringes of humanity with a twisted mix of human and zombie DNA, you battle to control the beast within and the turmoil it brings. Mastering this inner conflict is the only path to exacting revenge on the man who created you."
Dying Light: The Beast is a standalone story within Techland's apocalyptic world. It is available for pre-order now, with early purchases granting access to exclusive items like the Hero of Harran bundle. This bundle includes the Ultimate Survivor Outfit, Harran Combat Knife, Follower Crossbow, and more.
