Where to Find Sam in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (KCD2)

To achieve the best ending in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, completing specific tasks is crucial, including rescuing Sam. This guide details how to locate and save Sam during the "Reckoning" quest.

Rescuing Sam During "Reckoning"

Near the main questline's conclusion, you discover Sam's imprisonment at Praguer's Camp, captured by Brabant. Saving him during "Reckoning" involves infiltration, either stealthily or through force.

A guard's outfit is essential for undetected movement within the camp. While killing a guard and stealing their clothes is an option, looting chests within the camp offers a less violent alternative. Once equipped, explore the camp freely.

Sam is located in the barn to the left of the camp's central area, beyond the cooking fire. Use the barn's side ladder to descend inside and confront Brabant. Several impactful choices follow: you can kill or spare Brabant. Sparing him contributes to the best ending.

The Timing of Sam's Rescue

After freeing Sam, don't immediately leave the camp. Sam informs you of von Aulitz's presence. Prioritize dealing with von Aulitz, then securing a horse, before returning for Sam. This order simplifies the process, as Sam can wait, and carrying him to a horse is easier this way.

Von Aulitz resides in the main camp section. Your guard outfit allows entry without suspicion. Upon finding him, he's already dying and requests a dignified death – the most honorable option. Alternatively, you can kill him or leave him to die; leaving him to die contributes to the best ending.

Finally, retrieve Sam from the barn (a guard may question you; claiming you're moving a body will suffice). Exit the camp, turn right, and proceed to the stables to acquire a horse and escape with Sam, progressing towards the main quest's conclusion.
