"Persona 4 Revival Confirmed at Xbox Showcase"
After months of speculation and tightly guarded secrets, Atlus has officially confirmed the long-rumored remake of Persona 4—now titled Persona 4 Revival.
In a short but impactful reveal trailer, Atlus showcased *P4R: Persona 4 Revival* coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, with a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass. While the trailer didn’t dive deep into gameplay, the glimpses of updated environments suggest a major visual overhaul, bringing the beloved world of Inaba into modern gaming standards with enhanced detail and atmosphere.Following the announcement, Kazuhisa Wada, director of P-Studio, shared a heartfelt message about the project:
We are very pleased to announce the release of Persona 4 Revival. We look forward to sharing even more information in due time.
Persona 4 has inspired numerous spin-offs over the years, including the anime series, Persona 4 Arena, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, and Persona 4: Dancing All Night. It’s a title that holds a special place in Atlus’ history—and in my heart. We are developing this remake with immense passion and care, aiming to deliver a fresh and surprising experience for both new players and longtime fans. We can’t wait for you to experience it.
Additionally, our studio is actively moving forward with future developments in the Persona series. We’re working hard to meet the high expectations of fans worldwide, and progress is going smoothly. Stay tuned for more updates.
We sincerely appreciate your continued support of the Persona series.
For years, fans have speculated about a full-scale remake, with rumors intensifying due to newly registered domains, insider reports, and notably, several original voice actors publicly stating they wouldn’t be returning for a yet-unannounced project—fueling widespread theories about a remake in development.
The original Persona 4 earned a 9/10 from IGN, praised as “a significant improvement over the previous Persona games in many ways,” offering a richer dungeon-crawling and social-link experience that captivated players. The enhanced Persona 4 Golden version later became the definitive way to play, especially on modern platforms. However, its absence on Nintendo Switch—despite overwhelming fan demand—has remained a point of frustration.
