Nintendo's interactive alarm clock, Alarmo, is gearing up for a broader release in March 2025, as shared by the gaming giant on their official X (formerly Twitter) account.

In just a couple of months, Alarmo will become accessible to a global audience, available at select retail outlets like Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other Nintendo-approved stores.

This expanded release lifts the previous requirement of a Nintendo Online membership, making Alarmo accessible to everyone. You can grab the Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo for $99.99 USD.

While fans are thrilled about this news, the buzz around a potential Switch 2 announcement remains strong. However, Nintendo has kept their cards close to the chest, offering no comments on the new console.

Nintendo Alarmo Sold Out A Day After its Announcement

The excitement for Alarmo was evident just one day after its announcement on October 9, 2024. In Japan, due to overwhelming demand, Nintendo had to suspend sales on the My Nintendo Store and switch to a lottery system for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers.

"We have received a large number of orders for the Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo, which was released on October 9th, so we are currently suspending sales of the product on the My Nintendo Store. In response to this, we are currently preparing to change the sales method at My Nintendo Store to a lottery sale for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, so please wait for a while. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to our customers. Furthermore, we will continue to produce the products in order to deliver them to as many customers as possible."

In New York City, Alarmo also sold out quickly, though without a lottery system. The store reassured customers that they would be updated as soon as more stock was available.

Nintendo Alarmo Features

Launched in 2024, Alarmo brings the charm of Nintendo games right into your morning routine. It features sound effects from beloved titles like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3, with 42 scenes to choose from. Nintendo promises to add more scenes through free updates, including those from Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

When you set an alarm, a character from your chosen game scene appears on Alarmo’s screen. As the alarm sounds, the character gently wakes you with soft sounds. After a few moments, a visitor arrives, and you can quiet the alarm by waving your hand or moving your body, thanks to the device's motion sensor. If you linger too long in bed, a more insistent visitor appears, and the sound intensifies until you get up.

Beyond its alarm functionality, Alarmo enhances your bedroom ambiance with hourly chimes and sleep sounds themed to your selected scene. It also tracks your sleep patterns, monitoring your time in bed and movements during sleep.

For those sharing their bed with others or pets, Nintendo recommends using Alarmo's Button Mode. Initially, a Nintendo Online membership was required, but this will no longer be the case with the expanded release in March 2025.
