Should You Kill Jakesh in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2? (Bad Blood Quest Guide)

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 offers a wealth of side quests, many enriching the game's narrative and character development. This guide details how to begin and complete the "Bad Blood" quest.

How to Start "Bad Blood" in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

After gaining open-world access in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, progress through the quest involving finding Mutt. This leads you to a clearing near Bozhena's hut. Henry will suggest checking with Bozhena. Speak to her about Mutt; she'll reveal her daughter Pavlena is missing. Agreeing to help initiates the "Bad Blood" quest.

Gather Information

First, travel to Troskowitz and speak with Bailiff Thrush, followed by Innkeeper Betty at the tavern. They'll provide background on Bozhena and Pavlena, explaining their ostracization from the village.

Next, find Woodcutter Dushko. He'll direct you to Roman's house. Note: You'll need lockpicking skills; save beforehand. Search Roman's house, examine Pavlena's basket, and return to Dushko for more information. He'll lead you to a clearing, a favorite spot for the couple.

Search the Scene

From Roman's house, follow the objective marker downhill towards the stream. Turn left at the large boulders to find a blood trail. Following it leads to Roman's corpse. Continue upwards and speak with Hogheard Hugo, then return to the Troskowitz farm and speak with Hired Hand Straw.

A successful dialogue check with Straw reveals information about Jakesh and the events surrounding Roman and Pavlena. You can then speak with Thrush to decide how to proceed with Straw. Finally, head to the rocks south of Zhelejov to continue your investigation.

Confront Ota

Ota and Pavlena

Navigate around the large boulder to find a path. Climb the ladder to find Ota and Pavlena. High Charisma is needed for successful dialogue checks. These options will convince Ota to release Pavlena:

  • "What's your name?"
  • "Let her go and I'll let you go."
  • "I'll put in a good word for you with His Lordship."

Pavlena will then kill Ota. Speak with Pavlena and return to Bozhena together. Bozhena will then request you kill Jakesh.

Kill Jakesh or Make Peace

Jakesh at his child's grave

The final step involves choosing between killing Jakesh or seeking peace. Find Jakesh at his child's grave. You can kill him or attempt dialogue; killing Bozhena is also an option. The quest concludes regardless of your choice. In my playthrough, killing Jakesh and reporting back to Bozhena yielded a reward.

Should You Kill Jakesh?

Killing Jakesh lowers your reputation in Troskowitz but significantly improves it with Bozhena and Pavlena. A new dialogue option with Pavlena unlocks, along with a necklace reward.

Sparing Jakesh and making peace yields 100 groschen. You can keep the money or inform Bozhena, who will share it. Bozhena and Pavlena will be reinstated into the settlement.
