Helldivers 2 Update: New Enemies, Weapon Customization, and Superstore Overhaul

Author : Gabriel Update : May 19,2025

Helldivers 2 has just rolled out a major new update, patch 01.003.000, which is now available on both PC and PlayStation 5. This update introduces several exciting features, including new Illuminate enemies, weapon customization and progression, and significant changes to the Superstore.

Following a series of teases from developer Arrowhead, Helldivers 2 has launched a full-scale invasion by the Illuminate alien faction. The PlayStation Blog details the new enemies that players will encounter, such as the Stingray, which are jetfighters providing aerial support and executing devastating strafing runs, and the Crescent Overseer, capable of laying barrages on Helldivers even in cover. Another new enemy, the Fleshmob, is described as a "failed" Illuminate experiment—a brute force on the battlefield created from Voteless parts, challenging Helldivers to take it down.

Arrowhead has hinted at the presence of even larger ships, though specifics about their capabilities remain undisclosed, leaving players eager to dive back into the game to uncover more.
