GAMM: Italy's Premier Gaming Museum Preserves Gaming History
Rome's Piazza della Repubblica now boasts GAMM, Italy's largest video game museum. Founded by Marco Accordi Rickards, a writer, journalist, professor, and CEO of Vigamus, GAMM offers a captivating journey through gaming history, technology, and gameplay. Building on the success of Vigamus, a Rome-based gaming museum that has welcomed over two million visitors since 2012, GAMM occupies 700 square meters across two floors, showcasing three distinct thematic zones.
A sneak peek inside reveals:
-
GAMMDOME: An interactive digital playground featuring historical gaming artifacts, consoles, and donations, all based on the 4E concept: Experience, Exhibition, Education, and Entertainment.
-
PARC (Path of Arcadia): A nostalgic trip back to the golden age of arcade games, showcasing classics from the late 1970s through the early 1990s.
-
HIP (Historical Playground): A deep dive into game mechanics, design, and structure, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the evolution of gaming.
