Fares Unveils

Josef Fares, head of Hazelight Studios, recently revealed key details about their upcoming game, Split Fiction, during an interview. Reiterating previous statements, Fares stressed Hazelight's unwavering commitment to avoiding live-service models and microtransactions. The studio also confirmed it has no plans to go public or be acquired by a larger company. As Fares put it: "We're not going public. No microtransactions. We focus solely on delivering great gaming experiences."

In a conversation with MinnMax, Fares shared that Split Fiction's core narrative clocks in at approximately 12-14 hours, comparable to the playtime of It Takes Two. With optional missions and extra content included, players can anticipate a total playtime of 16-17 hours.

While Hazelight is primarily known for its cooperative games, Fares hinted at the possibility of exploring single-player titles in the future. He also revealed that Split Fiction's budget is double that of It Takes Two, yet the studio has chosen against post-launch DLC, ensuring all features are available from the game's launch. Split Fiction is set for global release on March 6th for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
