"The Exit 8: 3D Liminal Spaces Walking Simulator Now on Android!"

The Exit 8 has now launched on Android, blending various intriguing elements into a unique gaming experience. Developed by Kotake Create and published by Playism, this game is available for $3.99. It's not just a typical walking simulator; it's infused with an eerie atmosphere that challenges your every step.

A Creepy Walking Adventure

In The Exit 8, you navigate an endless underground passageway reminiscent of a Japanese metro station. You find yourself trapped in a loop where the environment—tiles, lights, posters, and even a solitary man walking towards you—repeats endlessly. The core challenge lies in identifying anomalies. These could range from a poster with a changed graphic, lights flickering unusually, to more dramatic changes like a river of blood replacing the floor. The game's central mechanic revolves around spotting these subtle changes and reacting quickly.

The gameplay is straightforward: if you notice something unusual, turn back. If you don’t, keep moving forward. Your objective is to reach the eighth exit without making any mistakes. This means correctly identifying and reacting to eight consecutive anomalies. Fail to do so, and you'll have to start over.

The Exit 8 Lets You Soak in a Surreal, Unsettling Atmosphere

The game's design draws inspiration from liminal spaces and the concept of the Backrooms. The setting mirrors real Japanese metro stations, such as Kiyosumi-Shirakawa Station in Tokyo, which adds to the claustrophobic and repetitive feel of the environment. The Exit 8 encourages active engagement with your surroundings, urging you to spot the smallest details that might indicate danger or a shift in reality. This constant questioning of your memory and perception makes each playthrough uniquely unsettling.

Originally released for PC in November 2023, The Exit 8 took Kotake Create about nine months to develop. Upon its PC release, it garnered 1.4 million downloads worldwide on Steam. Now available on mobile, you can download it from the Google Play Store.
