Get Your Pet
The moment you dive into Diablo 4 Season 7, make a beeline for the nearest town with a Wardrobe. Interact with it to claim your pet. While pets won't fight alongside you, they're invaluable for automatically collecting your gold and materials, saving you precious time that you can spend battling and looting.
Grab Your Mercenaries
If you're rocking the Vessel of Hatred expansion, head to the Den to recruit a Mercenary. Solo players can enlist up to two Mercenaries, making leveling and combat significantly smoother. Plus, building Rapport with them unlocks additional rewards.
Follow the Seasonal Questline and Level Up
Begin your journey on Normal difficulty and follow the seasonal questline marked by green leaf icons on your map. This questline introduces you to Season 7's new mechanics, including Headhunt zones and Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers, alongside the fresh Witch powers. While the questline is relatively short and peppered with puzzles, the bulk of your time will be spent farming Favors in Headhunt zones.
This approach is not only engaging but also the fastest way to reach level 60. Focus on defeating Headhunt zone bosses, collecting Favors, and enhancing your Witch powers simultaneously.
Unlock Your Class Power
A handy quality-of-life update means you no longer need to repeat class-specific priority quests if you've completed them on another character. However, you must first log in with that character on the Eternal realm. For example, if you're creating a Rogue for Season 7, log in with a previously leveled Rogue to unlock your class power automatically once you hit the necessary level.
Headhunt Zones
While exploring Headhunt zones, don't forget to tackle Whispers. With four zones active at any time, opt for the smallest, most densely packed areas for higher enemy concentrations and faster mob farming, which helps complete your Whispers efficiently.
Prioritize these Whisper quests:
- Fugitive: Recover a head or destroy a husk by defeating Elites and interacting with roots.
- Shepherd: Easily completed by escorting animals across the map.
Upon reaching 10 Grim Favors, trade them at the Tree of Whispers or with the Raven of the Tree found in each Headhunt zone for a cache.
Witchcraft Powers
At the Tree of Whispers, engage with the Altars of Witchcraft to buy and upgrade your Witchcraft powers using Restless Rot, earned from defeating new Rot enemies. While initial purchases are affordable, upgrades can be costly. Prioritize powers that boost your damage output for passive benefits.
Some unique Witch powers are exclusively available at Forgotten Altars, found in regular dungeons, Nightmare Dungeons, Pits, and Rootholds from Torment 1 difficulty. Boost your chances of encountering these altars with a Draught of Whispers.
Rootholds
Introduced in Season 7, Rootholds are accessed using Whispering Wood, obtained from Whispers and Silent Chests. These dungeons operate similarly to rogue-lite modes like Infernal Hordes, with negative modifiers that enhance loot quality. As you progress, open Exposed Roots for loot, influenced by the modifiers. Save your Roothold keys for Torment 1 to maximize Ancestral loot gains.
Occult Gems
Late in your progression, visit Gelena at the Tree of Whispers to craft Occult Gems. These gems, which you slot into your jewelry, outperform regular gems but require substantial Restless Rot and Heads, obtained from Roothold bosses and Fugitives in Headhunt zones. The Draught of Whispers can improve your chances of acquiring Heads.
Pits, Infernal Hordes, and Nightmare Dungeons
Don't neglect integrating Pits and Nightmare Dungeons into your routine. Nightmare Dungeons provide Glyphs, while Pits help level them up. Additionally, farming Infernal Hordes yields masterworking materials essential for enhancing your Uniques.
