Revamping the Overcharge System
The REPO team gathered valuable player insights during their latest open beta, with the Overcharge mechanic drawing particular attention from Semiwork's developers.
This strategic feature lets players grab opponents and hurl them against surfaces or away from allies. However, reckless use fills an Overcharge meter that triggers explosive consequences when maxed out.

Originally available immediately, Overcharge will now unlock at level 10. Semiwork plans to roll out progressive difficulty mechanics at level intervals (20, 30, etc.), integrating Overcharge as the foundational challenge in this tiered system.
The developers emphasize these mechanics will have narrative significance: "This system connects to our game lore – it's not just arbitrary difficulty spikes. We'll reveal more about these connections soon," teased Semiwork.
Devs Playtested Alongside Community

Semiwork engineers anonymously joined public matches during beta testing, gathering direct player feedback. Developer Pontus Sundström expressed excitement about seeing players engage with the new features.
"I've secretly matched with many of you through random queues," Sundström revealed. "These stealth playtests helped us identify which elements resonated most with players."
With community-driven improvements underway, Semiwork promises more exciting updates for REPO. Stay tuned for forthcoming announcements, or check our related coverage below for the latest developments.
