James Gunn ha confirmado oficialmente que una nueva película de Wonder Woman está en desarrollo activo, afirmando que "actualmente se está escribiendo".

En una entrevista con Entertainment Weekly antes del estreno del próximo Superman, el copresidente de DC Studios, James Gunn, aclaró que este nuevo proyecto de Wonder Woman es independiente de la serie previamente anunciada para HBO Max, Paradise Lost.

“Estamos desarrollando activamente un proyecto de Wonder Woman,” afirmó Gunn. “El guion se está escribiendo en este mismo momento.”

Fuera de los cómics, Diana de Themyscira ha enfrentado desafíos significativos en los últimos años. La serie cinematográfica en vivo protagonizada por Gal Gadot perdió impulso tras la recepción mixta de Wonder Woman 1984. Otros proyectos confirmados de DCU en desarrollo incluyen Clayface, programado para el 11 de septiembre de 2026. Sin embargo, la película de DCU The Authority parece estar enfrentando dificultades. Gunn ha indicado que Waller, un spin-off de Peacemaker, "ha experimentado, francamente, algunos contratiempos".
