El desarrollador de Crimson Desert, Pearl Abyss, se mantiene firme con su decisión de autoeditar su próximo Título de acción y aventuras. "En nuestra convocatoria de resultados del último trimestre, que está disponible públicamente, revelamos que publicaríamos Crimson Desert de forma independiente", explicó el desarrollador en un comunicado a Eurogamer. "Por supuesto, honramos y apreciamos a nuestros socios comerciales con quienes estamos constantemente en contacto sobre nuestros avances y planes, y estamos discutiendo diversas formas de colaboración con ellos".

Además, el desarrollador anunció que es presentando Crimson Desert al público el próximo mes de noviembre. Pearl Abyss dijo: "Además, aún no hemos anunciado ninguna fecha de lanzamiento, por lo que cualquier artículo sobre el tema es sólo especulación en este momento. Esperamos mostrar una versión jugable de Crimson Desert a los medios esta semana en París y al público en G-Star en noviembre."

Según una reunión de inversores en septiembre, se reveló que Sony intentó llegar a un acuerdo con Pearl Abyss para llevar Crimson Desert exclusivamente a la PS5, lo que a su vez haría que el juego no está disponible en la plataforma Xbox durante un período de tiempo. Sin embargo, Pearl Abyss dijo que decidieron autoeditar Crimson Desert porque "se consideró que la autoedición sería muy rentable".
