Application Description
A simple, non-field RPG where you escape a cursed forest. This game focuses on a unique blend of exploration, survival, and strategic decision-making.
Prologue: You're the village's best hunter, attending a national hunting tournament. After your first night camping, you wake to find the entire tournament camp deserted. Your sense of direction, usually impeccable, fails you; you find yourself repeatedly lost in the same area of the forest. The unsettling situation prompts your escape attempt.
The : Aided by Foria, a mischievous quarter-elf, your goal is to navigate the cursed forest. Gameplay is streamlined, using a maximum of three buttons at any time (excluding the base menu).
Character Creation: While customization is limited, you can freely reroll your stats until satisfied. Stat increases per level are only visible on this screen; this information is unavailable in-game. Character death occurs when your life force reaches zero, unless you possess at least two "talismans."
Foria, the Peddler Quarter-Elf: Foria, despite their childlike appearance, claims to be older than you. They secretly aid your escape using the forest's ancient spirits.
Game World and Narrative: The prologue unfolds like a picture story, while Foria's dialogue maintains a cheerful tone. The game world is conveyed through concise, evocative language.
Exploration: Progress relies on exploring unexplored areas. The success of each exploration attempt is determined by the "fog depth" of the area, influenced by your character stats. If your life force is depleted, use poison to restore it, or utilize rare "talismans." Returning to Foria may also be necessary.
Beast Encounters & Hunter Battles: The forest harbors various creatures, from wolves to frogs. Killing them yields materials for trading with Foria. Unlike typical RPGs, battles are optional and there's no leveling up through combat. As a hunter, you use a bow and arrow. Maintaining distance allows for attacks without counterattacks, while closing the distance results in a one-sided attack. You can choose to withdraw or use a "flash" ball (provided by Foria) to escape.
Cloak & Layering System: Craft cloaks using gathered materials to enhance your abilities. Up to three layers can be worn, cumulatively boosting your stats. Cloaks can also restore vitality, but are subject to damage and eventual wear. The bow and arrow remain your only weapon.
Game Features: This isn't just a game; it's an experience. It features:
- Random skill selection.
- Tests of reflexes, strategy, skill, and luck.
- Material gathering, synthesis, and alchemy.
- A focus on preparation before progressing.
Autosave: The game autosaves, but not during battles. Exiting to the base menu is recommended for reliable saves.
Version 1.2 Update (December 18, 2024): Fixed a bug causing unexpected transitions to character creation mode. Previous versions addressed typos, minor bugs, and message adjustments.
