Könnt ihr nicht genug von Tom Hardy und Pierce Brosnans packendem neuem Krimi-Drama bekommen? Sehnt ihr euch nach einer weiteren Staffel, in der Helen Mirren die Leinwand beherrscht? Gute Nachrichten: Paramount+ hat für MobLand offiziell eine zweite Staffel grünes Licht gegeben.

Der Streamer berichtet, dass seit der Premiere am 30. März 26 Millionen Zuschauer eingeschaltet haben – was die Verlängerung zu einer naheliegenden Entscheidung macht, besonders mit der hochkarätigen Besetzung. Paramount+ bestätigt, dass MobLand nun seine zweiterfolgreichste Original-Serie aller Zeiten ist.

Neben Hardy, Brosnan und Mirren sind in der Serie auch Paddy Considine aus House of the Dragon und Joanne Froggatt aus Downton Abbey zu sehen. Sie folgt Hardys Harry Da Souza, einem Problemlöser, der für Brosnans Mob-Boss Conrad Harrigan arbeitet. Staffel 1 hält derzeit eine solide Wertung von 75 % auf Rotten Tomatoes und ist weiterhin im Streaming verfügbar – allerdings steht das Startdatum für Staffel 2 noch nicht fest.

Während der MobLand-Pressetour im Mai reflektierte Hardy, wie sich jahrzehntelange physisch fordernde Rollen in Venom, Mad Max: Fury Road und The Dark Knight Rises auf seine Gesundheit ausgewirkt haben, während er sich den 50ern nähert.
