Application Description
A traditional reflection game from West Africa
Known as Awele, Ayo, or Oware, Awale is a two-player Mancala game. It shares similarities with East African games like Omweso, Bao, and Igisoro.
Awale is played on a board with eight holes per player and uses 64 seeds.
A player's territory is the row of holes closest to them.
The objective is to capture all or most of your opponent's seeds to prevent them from making a move.
Other games in the Mancala family include Ayo, Kisoro, and Omweso.
Mancala games are believed to have originated in Ethiopia during the ancient Kingdom of Aksum.
