Stenciletto presents a series of progressively challenging cognitive exercises utilizing simple geometric shapes. The core objective is to enhance visual-spatial reasoning abilities. Accessible to all, requiring only basic geometric shape recognition and an understanding of stencils, the puzzles demand diverse critical thinking skills: visual-spatial perception, logical deduction, strategic planning, and problem-solving—all simultaneously. Inspired by Grace Arthur, Ph.D.’s early 20th-century work, the game (originally titled the Stencil Design IQ Test) highlights the importance of nonverbal skills in intelligence. Arthur successfully used it to assess the IQ of Native American and deaf children who performed poorly on verbal tests, demonstrating their cognitive abilities were equivalent to their educated peers.
