Xbox Game Pass Ultimate: Stream Select Games on Consoles
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members have been granted a thrilling new perk: the ability to stream select games directly to their consoles without the need for downloads. This innovative feature was announced today via an Xbox Wire news post, highlighting that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can now stream games from the Game Pass catalog, as well as certain games they own, on their Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One consoles through cloud streaming.
Previously, this cloud streaming capability was available on smart TVs, PCs, smartphones, and Meta Quest headsets. Now, for the first time, console users can enjoy the convenience of instant play without downloading, saving both time and valuable hard drive space.
To access this feature on your Xbox console, follow these steps:
- Navigate to My games & apps > Full library > Owned Games.
- Cloud-enabled games will show a distinctive cloud badge on their game page. Use the Filter option > Ready to play > Cloud gaming to quickly find these games.
- Select the game you want to play and choose Play with Cloud Gaming. You can also start streaming directly from the Store app after purchasing select cloud-playable games.
In a reverse scenario, any game installed on your Xbox console can now be streamed on devices with supported web browsers through this link. Note that this feature is no longer supported on the Xbox mobile app but remains available on mobile devices via the browser link. Xbox is also working to extend this feature to Samsung and Amazon Fire smart TVs, and Meta Quest headsets.
Additionally, Xbox announced that starting this month, Xbox and Xbox 360 backward compatible games will support remote play, enhancing the gaming experience further.
