WOW Postpones Plunderstorm Release
World of Warcraft's Plunderstorm Event Delayed
Due to unforeseen technical difficulties, the highly anticipated return of World of Warcraft's Plunderstorm event has been postponed. While initially slated for January 14th, 2025, Blizzard has yet to announce a revised launch time.
Plunderstorm, a popular pirate-themed battle royale mode introduced during the Dragonflight expansion in 2024, was set to return with both original and new rewards. However, unexpected issues arose during the planned server maintenance, resulting in a delay beyond the initially extended eight-hour downtime.
While Blizzard aims to launch Plunderstorm before the end of January 14th, a concrete timeframe remains unavailable. Players are encouraged to enjoy other in-game content, such as Siren Isle weeklies and the Turbulent Timeways event, while waiting for the Plunderstorm servers to come online.
Plunderstorm Launch Window:
- Before the end of January 14th, 2025, pending resolution of unforeseen technical problems.
The delay may be related to new features introduced for this iteration of Plunderstorm, such as the Plunderstore and an in-game event interface.
Despite the delay, World of Warcraft's Plunderstorm Twitch Drops are currently active. Viewers can earn the Coward's Azure Target back transmog by watching four hours of any World of Warcraft Twitch stream before February 4th at 10 AM PST. The streamer does not need to be playing Plunderstorm.
