WoW Housing: new details shared by Blizzard
World of Warcraft's highly anticipated housing system is slated for a 2025 release, with Blizzard recently unveiling initial details. The developers assure players that homes will be accessible to everyone, regardless of in-game standing, without exorbitant costs or lotteries, and will remain accessible even without an active subscription. This substantial housing feature is scheduled for full implementation with the Midnight expansion.
Initially, players can select a plot in one of two distinct zones: Alliance players will find options in a region blending Elwynn Forest with elements of Westfall and Duskwood, while Horde players can choose from a Durotar area incorporating aspects of Azshara and the Durotar coastline.
These zones are subdivided into districts, each accommodating approximately 50 homes. Players can opt for a standalone property or establish a private community with friends or guild members. Extensive customization options are promised, with the majority available in-game, and some offered through the in-game shop.
Blizzard highlights three core principles underpinning the housing system: extensive personalization, robust social interaction, and enduring appeal. Further details on the housing system are promised in the future, with Blizzard currently inviting player feedback.
