Steam Deck fans have been dreaming about a white colorway for the Steam Deck ever since it was teased as a prototype during the Steam Deck presentation in 2021. Of course, it wasn't for sale at the time and fans only got to get their hands on the pure black variants. "This is a prototype only. We love it too, but we’re not able to bring it to market at the same time we’re shipping the Steam Deck," Valve’s Greg Coomer said at the time, additionally remarking that they plan to "look at other color options in the future."
