"Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Delayed to October 2025"
The release of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been delayed once again, now set to launch in October 2025. This latest postponement was announced in a recent game update video from publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room. While it pushes the release a few months beyond the previously planned first half of the year, there's a silver lining: the game is reportedly complete.
"The status of the game right now is that the game is done," stated Marco Behrmann, the Executive Producer of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. "We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases."
Despite the disappointment of yet another delay in a long series of setbacks, the update video brought some positive news. The Chinese Room has enhanced the game with additional content, deeper narrative, and further character development. They also teased that the character Fabien will have an "evolved role" in the storyline at launch. However, fans should note that updates will be less frequent moving forward, as indicated by a post on the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page.
Even those with only a passing interest in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 are aware of its tumultuous development history. Initially revealed in 2019 by developer Hardsuit Labs with a launch target of Q1 2020, the game faced its first delay to late 2020 later that year. This was followed by a push to 2021 in the summer of 2020, and then another delay and layoffs at Hardsuit in March 2021. A significant change came in 2023 when Hardsuit was replaced by The Chinese Room, aiming for a 2024 release. Now, after one more delay, fans are looking forward to finally experiencing Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 this coming October.
While it's uncertain whether the sequel to the 2004 cult-classic video game will successfully captivate players this fall, The Chinese Room remains optimistic. Paradox Interactive has also hinted that, should Bloodlines 2 achieve a successful release, a different team will be tasked with developing Bloodlines 3.
