Ubisoft Reveals Customization and Progression in Assassin's Creed: Shadows
Ubisoft has unveiled an exciting new article that delves into the gameplay features of *Assassin's Creed: Shadows*, with a particular focus on the equipment and progression systems for the protagonists, Yasuke and Naoe. A highlight of the game is the enhanced functionality of the iconic Hidden Blade, a feature that fans are sure to appreciate.
Both characters boast unique skill trees tailored to their distinct combat styles. Yasuke, embodying the samurai spirit, specializes in powerful samurai techniques, while Naoe, the stealthy shinobi, focuses on cunning and agility. Players can allocate skill points to unlock weapon-specific abilities or refine their fighting styles. These points are earned by completing open-world objectives or taking down formidable foes like the Daisyo samurai.
To ensure balanced growth, both characters will progress at an even pace, preventing one from outpacing the other. Unlocking powerful abilities often requires specific in-game actions, such as tracking down a mysterious shinobi group. Other upgrades are linked to the "Knowledge" scale, which players can advance by studying ancient manuscripts or praying at sacred shrines. Reaching the sixth rank of Knowledge unlocks an entirely new skill tree, adding depth to the progression system.
Ubisoft also detailed the equipment system, where items are categorized into five quality tiers: common, uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary. Players can upgrade their gear at a blacksmith and customize it visually to suit their style. Special perks attached to armor and weapons can significantly alter gameplay dynamics, offering strategic advantages in combat.
The Hidden Blade returns as the ultimate assassination tool, capable of delivering instant kills with a single, precise strike. *Assassin's Creed: Shadows* is set to launch globally on March 20, available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5, promising an immersive experience filled with rich progression and thrilling gameplay.
