Ubisoft Leaks: Rainbow Six Siege 2 in Development with Enhanced Graphics

According to an insider known as fraxiswinning, Ubisoft is poised to unveil Rainbow Six Siege 2 at the Six Invitational 2025, scheduled to occur at the MGM Music Hall from February 14–16. The project, reportedly codenamed Siege X, is said to operate on an enhanced engine featuring upgraded graphics, including revamped textures and models. Additionally, it appears that Ubisoft might forgo the return of previous temporary events from the original game, opting instead to introduce fresh events. The anticipated release date for the sequel is set for the second season of the tenth year of support, which would place it around mid-2025.

Previously, Alexander Karpazis, the creative director of Rainbow Six Siege, expressed that a full sequel was unnecessary due to the ongoing development of the current game. However, if this leak holds true, it seems Ubisoft may have reconsidered their stance. As always, it's crucial to approach rumors with skepticism; without an official statement from Ubisoft, all this remains speculative.

The Rainbow Six Siege World Championship, known as Six Invitational 2025, is on the horizon. Set in Boston, this event will see twenty teams vying for a piece of the $3,000,000 prize pool and the championship title. Oxygen Esports, having triumphed in the North American Last Chance Qualifier, secured the last spot in the competition.

A tournament of this size, with twenty teams, is not typical. While Ubisoft may adhere to last year's format—dividing the teams into four groups for a round-robin stage among five teams, followed by a Double Elimination playoff—there's always the chance they could introduce a new format. In this scenario, the first-place team would skip the first round, the fourth-place team would start in the lower bracket, the other teams would enter the playoffs via the upper bracket, and the last-place team from each group would be eliminated.
