Top Killers on Dead by Daylight Devs' Wishlist: The Thing and Cujo
The integration of Five Nights at Freddy’s into Dead by Daylight marks an exciting expansion for fans of the popular asymmetrical horror game. Developer Behaviour Interactive isn't stopping there; they have a robust list of horror icons they're eager to bring into the game. In a recent discussion with IGN, the team shared their aspirations and specific targets for future additions.
Killer Designer and horror enthusiast Jason Guzzo, instrumental in introducing iconic Killers like Chucky, Dracula, and Springtrap to the game, has a particular franchise in his sights. "I have been here for two and a half years, and I have been on a crusade to figure out how to get The Thing into Dead by Daylight," Guzzo revealed. Despite no current discussions at higher levels, Guzzo's passion for John Carpenter's classic film is clear. "As far as I know, it’s not something that is being discussed above me, but my dream – and probably my favorite horror movie – is the obvious one: The Thing," he stated. He admits there are potential design challenges with a mimic-based Killer, but his determination remains unwavering.

Creative Director Dave Richard also chimed in, noting that the team frequently discusses potential additions. While Pennywise from Stephen King's "It" is a name that excites him, Richard's ambition extends beyond just one character. "There are other kings of horror that would be amazing to have," he mentioned. "You could guess any one of them, I’m thinking. Frankly, I just want to collect them all." He even playfully suggested less conventional choices like Cujo, the rabid dog from King's novel, and Christine, the killer car, indicating the team's willingness to think outside the box.
As Dead by Daylight approaches its ninth anniversary, the game continues to evolve and expand. The Five Nights at Freddy’s Chapter, set to launch on June 17, will introduce Springtrap and a new pizzeria map, further enriching the game's universe.
