Thrones: Kingsroad Unveils Extended Gameplay
Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Mobile RPG Beta Test Announced
Netmarble's upcoming mobile RPG, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, has unveiled a new gameplay trailer and details about its closed beta test. Set during the show's fourth season, this action-adventure game promises engaging combat and a rich narrative experience for fans.
The closed beta, running from January 16th to 22nd, 2025, in the US, Canada, and select European regions, offers a sneak peek before the full launch later this year. Players can register via the game's official website.
Featuring class-based progression with "fully manual" controls, Kingsroad offers a fresh storyline centered around a new character from House Tyrell in the North. Iconic characters like Jon Snow, Jaime Lannister, and even Drogon, are confirmed to appear. The game's combat is described as "raw, aggressive, and destructive."
The recently released trailer showcases the game's features, including character customization and dynamic battles. Netmarble, known for titles like Marvel Future Fight and Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, aims to deliver a high-quality mobile experience that leverages the rich lore and characters of George R.R. Martin's creation and the HBO adaptation. The game's setting during season four allows for an original story while remaining faithful to the established world.
While fans eagerly anticipate the next Game of Thrones book, The Winds of Winter, Kingsroad provides a compelling interim experience, especially considering the ongoing delays. This mobile title, alongside other projects like A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and House of the Dragon season 3, will keep fans engaged until the next chapter in the saga arrives.
