Steam Leaks Assassin's Creed Shadows Details
Assassin's Creed Shadows' First DLC, "Claws of Awaji," Leaks on Steam
Details regarding the upcoming "Claws of Awaji" expansion for Assassin's Creed Shadows have seemingly leaked via a now-removed Steam update, according to Insider Gaming. This first DLC for the feudal Japan-set title will reportedly introduce a new region, weapon type, skills, gear, and substantial additional gameplay.
Assassin's Creed Shadows, Ubisoft Quebec's highly anticipated entry in the franchise, marks the series' debut in Japan. Players will control dual protagonists, Yasuke (a Samurai) and Naoe (a Shinobi), navigating 16th-century Japan. The game's development has faced several setbacks, including negative feedback and multiple delays. The latest delay pushed the launch date from February 14, 2025, to March 20, 2025.
The leaked Steam update, which has since been deleted, revealed that "Claws of Awaji" will provide over 10 hours of extra content. The update also mentioned a bonus mission included with pre-orders. This leak emerged shortly after Ubisoft announced the most recent delay.
Ubisoft's Uncertain Future
The delay for Assassin's Creed Shadows coincides with ongoing speculation about Ubisoft's potential acquisition by Tencent. This follows a period of mixed performance for the company, with several high-profile titles underperforming expectations. The success of Assassin's Creed Shadows, therefore, holds significant weight for Ubisoft's future.
