"Star Wars: KOTOR Remake Still in Development, Developer Confirms"

Saber Interactive continues to assure fans that all its previously announced projects, including high-profile titles like the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) remake, are still actively in development. Despite the lack of updates on some of these titles, the studio's Chief Creative Officer, Tim Willits, took to social media to emphasize that Saber Interactive, one of the largest independent developers in the world, is diligently working on a diverse range of games across multiple genres. Willits promised that the studio would share more information as soon as they have exciting news to reveal.

The most notable project mentioned in Willits' statement is the KOTOR remake. Announced in 2021, this highly anticipated game has experienced numerous changes in development, including shifts in ownership and periods of apparent inactivity. However, Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch confirmed in April 2024 that the KOTOR project was still alive and well, even after the studio's split from Embracer Group. Karch expressed a strong commitment to surpassing consumer expectations with the game. Willits' recent statement reinforces this commitment, though fans are yet to see any progress beyond the initial announcement video.

In addition to the KOTOR remake, Saber Interactive is working on several other titles, with some slated for release in 2025. These include John Carpenter's Toxic Commando and Jurassic Park Survival, both of which have yet to receive specific release dates. The studio is also developing a new Turok game and an untitled project based on Avatar: The Last Airbender. The latest addition to their lineup is Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3.
